VEGAS & ARIZONA - 2011

And so begins an annual tradition of traveling adventures! The first one as a couple - outside of camping - has been a long-time coming, and so we really lived it up. For most of our future extensive road-trips, we'll have the girls and camper in tow. It's not likely that we'll have as many opportunities to rent a car and put on over 1100 miles! So, we went "all in" and got the upgrade: Corvette Convertible!! As luck would have it (or answered prayers) - the weather was unseasonably WARM everywhere we went! I'm pretty sure we only have one photo involving the car with the top up. So many sights, including sunset at the Grand Canyon, Sunset in Sedona, and Sunset in the mountains! Upon our return, Addie asked me, "Why does your face look like that??" We're guessing she was referring to my TAN!

The Stunning Red Rock on Hwy 89 & Sedona!!

We voyaged on an alternate route - winding our way through red rock vistas in our curve-hugging ride :)

 This is where we stayed...
These were our views from our balcony!
This was the view from the pool - though we opted for our private hot-tub after our hike that eve.

Our views from our table on the open-air upper story of the local restaurant: Oaxaca.

Our "Apertivo" was the Grilled Arizona Cactus with Romesco Sauce...
And I enjoyed the Desert Sunset - a margarita made with desert harvested Prickly Pear Cactus Syrup. Joy!

 MmmHmmmmmmmmmmmm.

This is Bell Rock - where we hiked to an ideal platform for 360-degree sunset viewing, and got our Vortex on! (Always learning something new. I prefer the classroom of life!Click here to learn: What's a Vortex?

Found this fab vista on the hiking trail up the rock - just in time for sunset! I go crazy with sunsets... The sky and scenery change every minute as the sun gets lower... How can you not go crazy?

Our abode for the night - diggin' the 4-poster log & that hot-tub.

 AND the fireplace :)

We actually saw a desert quail... in Peoria on our way to the highway back to Vegas. Ha!

Back in the saddle again ~
