VEGAS & ARIZONA - 2011

And so begins an annual tradition of traveling adventures! The first one as a couple - outside of camping - has been a long-time coming, and so we really lived it up. For most of our future extensive road-trips, we'll have the girls and camper in tow. It's not likely that we'll have as many opportunities to rent a car and put on over 1100 miles! So, we went "all in" and got the upgrade: Corvette Convertible!! As luck would have it (or answered prayers) - the weather was unseasonably WARM everywhere we went! I'm pretty sure we only have one photo involving the car with the top up. So many sights, including sunset at the Grand Canyon, Sunset in Sedona, and Sunset in the mountains! Upon our return, Addie asked me, "Why does your face look like that??" We're guessing she was referring to my TAN!

Vegas, Baby!

We had the place to ourselves for the first day and a half. We covered TONS of ground - since we didn't have to share much of the sidewalk. Got to see so much - including a Cirque Du Soleil show: Mystere. Some of those stunts shouldn't be humanly possible!
This is what we left BEHIND...

 Bye bye snow!

My one sin in sin-city: grabbing a shot of Lake Mead from the plane when "all electronics were supposed to be turned off and properly stowed..." Ooops! ;)

Our view from the Monte Carlo - the new City Center!

Our home for 3 nights (+ one more before heading home again).

 How Joel and I felt!

 Cheers!

First night out = no camera... just checking it all out!

The next day...

 The next night!

Mango Dragon - with jalepenos!

'Twas a sushi night... and a good one at that~
Had to head to Grandpa's old stomping grounds!

They have a zip-line down the Freemont Strip now! We almost did it... Then decided that catching the bus in time was a good idea, and that we'd save this for a jungle adventure on a future trip. :)

Roaming around Vegas on Fat Tuesday had its perks as well...

From atop the Eiffel Tower :) :)

"Our Shot" - a long-time tradition! You'll see this in many locale's along the way~

My falloch (sp?)-inspired "bong" drink (X3 in one) for the roaming of the Strip~ Had to do it - for the fam-joke! ;)

First Day-trip - to Red Rock Canyon. About the only time we had the top up - because we hadn't yet figured out how to get it to open. We got outside of the busy city and got that baby down....

My Half-ASSed photo. Went by it too quick! There were a couple of them roaming wild out there.

Aha - here we go. We got it figured out now... and there's no turning back ;)

More to look forward to - This is just the beginning!
